Simulation of overloading and partial load instability of viaduct
The process of overloading and partial load instability of viaduct was simulated using the independently developed MatDEM discrete element analysis platform. The specific simulation process is as follows:
First draw the truck, the pier and the road surface.

Then use MatDEM image modeling function to generate the 3D model of each component and import it into the calculation model. The number of model units is 440,000, including 220,000 active units.

Finally, gravity is applied and the numerical simulation is completed.Simulate the real world for 1.312 seconds.(animations and illustrations are generated by MatDEM)

MatDEM is a universal discrete element analysis platform developed by Nanjing University. It supports numerical simulation of millions of particle discrete elements. And it integrates pre-processing, calculation, post-processing and powerful secondary development functions.Users can generate various professional discrete element analysis software through secondary development and compilation, such as the following MatDEM landslide analysis system.MatDEM provides more than 30 types of sample source code, free to use and publish papers, please visit http://matdem.com to download.

With the support of the Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering, we will hold the "fourth training on discrete element method and MatDEM technology" during 2019 China Rock. Please visit the software website for details.
