Training background
In order to carry out the ``key points of the society reform" of the Chinesee Associationn of Sciencee and Technology, the Chinesee Society of Rock Mechanics and Engineering held the China Rock 2018-10th annual conference of Chinesee Societyy of Rock Mechanics and Engineering" in Beijingg from Novemberr 19 to 22,2018. On November 19, the "discrete element method and MatDEM technical training course" will be held before the meeting.
Many problems in geotechnical engineering, geological engineering and energy engineering involve large deformation and failure. The discrete element method (DEM) is an important method to analyze these problems. The large-scale DEM simulation software MatDEM for rock and soil mass was developed by Nanjing University, and the DEM simulation of millions of elements was realized, which makes the DEM approach to engineering application.
The training is the second phase of discrete element method and MatDEM technical training since the Second Youth Forum on rock mechanics and engineering-discrete element software MatDEM training was held in Nanjing in May 2018 Emphasis will be placed on multi-field coupled numerical simulation.

3. Training content
The training will provide a brief introduction to the principles of DEM and Matdem operations, with emphasis on multi-field coupled numerical simulation and complex three-dimensional modeling, including but not limited to the following applications:
1. Soil cracking under multi-field action;
2. Thermal-mechanical coupling between tunnel (energy pile) and soil;
3. Simulation of groundwater, land subsidence, ground fissures and landslides;
4. Simulation of earthquake dynamic action.

Time: November 19,2018 8:30 am-12:00 am, 14:00 pm-17:30 pm
Venue: Beijing Longmai Hot Spring Hotel (Changping Xiaotangshan town, Beijing)
The Standard of relevant expenses
Training Course: 1200 yuan per person, 1000 yuan per person by October 25.
Annual Conference: 1650 yuan / person (registered before 19th October) , attend the training, and attend the conference, you can pay the registration fee according to the preferential price.
Accommodation: 350 yuan (Standard Room) training class unified arrangement accommodation, accommodation costs.
