Application in a real landsliding

Software:MatDEM(3D discrete element simulation system for rock and soil mass)

Computing environment:GPU workstations,GPU Tesla K20c

Based on elevation data and stratum data, a 3D landslide model of discrete element accumulation materials with similar properties to real rocks is established. The model contains 286,000 elements and simulates the real world for 200 seconds, which takes 2 days to complete. The relevant 3D modeling example is updated in MatDEM_v0.92,user_3DSlope. A new 3D landslide model can be established by modifying digital elevation data.

The simulated seismic wave approximates to the actual one.The overall slide took about 60 seconds. As can be seen from the image above on the left, the seismic waves are strongest at about 20 seconds, when the sliding body passes through the scraping area.
